Just made my first modlist and it's running well on Android OpenMW 0.46 on a Pixel 4XL, figured I'd share if anyone else gets any use out of it.
And if you have any critiques, go for it. First time modding Morrowind, so I'm sure I made mistakes.

I used quite a few mods trying out OpenMW on the Android S6 though I use a PC now. Almost everything worked except for Welcome To The Arena, Vurt's Groundcover, and variety of graphic enhancement mods. Seemed environmental enhancement caused the most issues of graphic enhancement mods in my experience.

Yeah, Vurt's Groundcover has an OpenMW compatible version on Nexus, but as you said mods that significantly change the environment hit the FPS hardest for me.

With Object Paging and Active Grid, you can twiddle things a bit... if you have enough memory, then you'll offload quite a bit from CPU to RAM/GPU.

Interesting, I haven't heard about Object Paging and Active Grid. What all does it entail? Just turning on a toggle in the settings.cfg? And you're saying it can increase performance on Android mobile phones right?

When it comes to things like ground cover, it can. It depends on how much RAM you have. However this is only in latest post OpenMW 0.46 releases, not in 0.46 itself.

I mean, I have both the 0.46 OMW and 0.46 OMW Nightly on my phone, and I have a Pixel 4XL, so 6GB RAM.
