omwaddon vs omwscripts

Post by Hal900x »

ncgdmw.omwaddon
ncgdmw.omwscripts

Just a reminder, I'm using Starwind mod in case that's relevant.

I notice that OpenMW just doesn't seem to let me use omwscripts files. For example, ncgdmw-lua, which is a leveling mod compatible with Starwind. It has a ncgdmw.omwaddon file, which I add a data= line in the openmw.cfg file and the launcher recognizes it, i can select it, etc. However the ncgdmw.omwscripts doesn't show up in the available data files in the launcher, and when I add a content=ncgdmw.omwscripts line in openmw.cfg, it simply removes it on launch. This happens with ALL the mods that contain omwscripts files so far, about 3 of them in total.

Make sure that you use 0.48 instead of 0.47 (which does not support Lua at all).

Oh wow...the OpenMW site repository doesn't have anything past .47 for Windows. How can that be? And how can this list at https://modding-openmw.com/lists/starwind-modded/ have so many mods that would only work with .48, given how new it must be? (assuming you are telling me that all these mods with the omwscripts are lua mods, that is)

0.48 was not officially released, it is in a release candidate phase in a last half of year. But it does not prevent people from creating Lua mods (which require 0.48 or even bleeding-edge builds).

Yes, "omwscripts" is a new data format to register Lua scripts.

Well I guess I'll start over then! Leveling mod is a must for me. Thanks all. Can someone provide a link for the most recent/stable RC?
