I own the Xbox version of the game and have for years, I didn't want to buy the game again for PC so I downloaded MW off the Gamepass PC app. I have MW installed and can play the game fine but OpenMW does not detect the game being there.

The GamePass version doesn't write to the registry in the same way as all the other releases, so we can't detect it in the same way. This might change in the future, but for now, you'll have to browse to where the Microsoft Store installed it.
