I'm thinking of suggesting this a feature, but first I have to ask, is there another way of selecting in the cell view other than with the MMB? that button always breaks with my mice and I'd be REALLY NICE if there was a backup way of selecting objects.

If you go into Edit/Preferences, there's a key binding menu where you can map it to another action.
