Screen Resolution Resetting On Launch

First off I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I did a bit of digging and found nothing.
My monitor is 3840x2160, and I'd like to run the game in 1920x1080 to save on performance. Whenever I set my resolution in the OpenMW launcher, I can close it and reopen it and the settings will stay the same, but every time I launch the game it resets these launcher settings, and maybe others I haven't noticed: Resolution, Anti-aliasing, and Viewing Distance. I always have my settings.cfg and openmw.cfg open so I can see the settings being reset in real time, but I don't know what to do about it. I would try to set the files to read-only, but I'm in the middle of installing a bunch of mods. Any advice would be massively appreciated.
