Human Readable Save Date String

Hey all,

I'm looking to contribute to OpenMW, and I thought an easy place to start would be making the dates for save files be a little easier to read.
e.g 2022.05.01 09:58:07 -> May 1, 2020 9:58 PM
or something similar.

In the "Looking to Contribute" section it said to post here before starting in case there was any input that would be useful.

Let me know!

Is there a universal preference here? For me, the ISO standard is easier to read than the English centric Month, Day, Year, 12-hour clock

For me personally (as an American), the Month, Day, Year, 12-hour clock is way more natural to read. Perhaps it would make sense if I just added this to the English version of the game?

The US isn't the only English speaking country in the world, but is the only country that uses inside out dates. This would definitely be rejected, especially as the project nominally uses British English, so if we did go for a non-ISO format, we'd go for something in Day Month Year order.

I'm aware, no need to condescend.

I'll delete my PR since it seems this is not something the team will add.

I am also American, but I don't necessarily agree with this view. That being said, if there is a way to change this format in the context of i10n in the great UI dehardcoding.

Perhaps this is just a month too early?

I could see other ways to do dates based on your system preference?

Oh noes, I don't believe this was intended as being condensending. Just a statement of fact. How else could this have been said?

To be fair, bit everyone is a native English speaker either. We have to be straight and to the point otherwise things can be misunderstood. 😅
