It would be nice to have an installer-free release option, for advanced users.
This would be basically just a ZIP archive that must be manually extracted by the user, just like GZDoom releases.
Or maybe provide a flag to the existing installer to just extract the files, without installing.
In this case the user would be responsible for installing required dependencies, like Microsoft C and C++ (MSVC) runtime libraries.

The CI actually does build the release commits, although the results are only kept for a couple of months. You actually can use 7zip to extract our
.exe
installer like a zip archive and end up with basically the result you're after, too.- oncipriani
