Re: openmw-compatible survival mods like ashfall?

I had the same question just about a week ago.
Tried Necessities of Morrowind, which is the classic MW survival mod, but I found its mechanics too overengineered and even annoying at some points. For example, to eat something, you don't just drag a meal onto your character portrait, but take "food satchel", put it on the ground, activate it, wait a fixed delay of 5 seconds to "prepare", and then put your food into it.
Also it seems to be not compatible with current Tamriel Rebuilt - there are no ways to fill your water containers on the mainland, some of the new types of food are duplicated (I had two stacks of identical-looking guar meat, one of which was recognized as NoM food, and other one was not).

I ended up using these mods:
Water and Thirst
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46509
Cooking and Eating (hunger mechanics needs to be activated manually, see description)
https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46507

There is no sleep requirement in these, and I didn't find any mods adding just the sleep, so I have to roleplay that "manually" for now.

Also, there is Frostwind which is a predecessor to Ashfall, and it seems to be OpenMW compatible

I did not try it though (yet), and it only has the bonuses for sleeping/eating/drinking, but no penalties.
