Hands and weapons

I was looking at the axe in the ES pack and found that actors hold it the wrong way around, I was going to see about rotating it in blender but could not find a blend file. I did find a pickaxe blend file that was uploaded a while back but no asset was made of it. i scaled it and exported to osgt and found actors held it at the wrong end and angle, by rotating about different axis and setting the origin I have got actors holding the axe at the right distance along the shaft but it is either a few cm. outside their hands or inside their hands.

Is there a simple method of setting up weapon hand positions, or is the blend file available for the ES axe? The ES axe hand position is correct.

The weapon bone in anim.nif files is probably rotated in a different way than Morrowind's.
