While tinkering with OpenCS, I realized that one can clone cells. That cells can be recreated like exteriors and, even, interiors, with sky and water, or without water (This part is fantastic when turning Vivec Plazas into fake exteriors).
Working on the official mod Siege at Firemoth I tried to convert the atoll to an interior but didn't worked like I expected.
Some observations:
1. While selecting only one cell we have the option to clone.
2. But multiselecting cells don't displays that function.
3. Cloning an individual cell and recreating it in another exterior location don't create a duplicate.
4. Cloning an individual cell and recreating it like a new interior cell don't work, too.
So, since the option to clone cells is there but not working, I'd like to know if this feature will be implemented before 1.0. If not, I will open a Feature request in the tracker. Thank you!

Re: Cloning Cells: Turning exterior on interiors and back
Seems that too many people saying "OpenCS", instead of OpenMW-CS. Since OpenMW-CS is linked and only works with OpenMW, it makes more sense to type it out so. It is also the name of the binary.
If anyone stumbles across anyone or any place on the wiki/website/forum that says/types "OpenCS", please correct them so we can nip this thing in the bud. Thanks!

Might also be that "OpenCS" is quicker to type. Although wrong, I use them interchangeably and I´m sure people get what I mean.psi29a wrote:Seems that too many people saying "OpenCS", instead of OpenMW-CS.

1./2. Working as intended. When cloning you need to specify the new ID. Doing that for multiple records at once would require a much more complex UI.1. While selecting only one cell we have the option to clone.
2. But multiselecting cells don't displays that function.
3. Cloning an individual cell and recreating it in another exterior location don't create a duplicate.
4. Cloning an individual cell and recreating it like a new interior cell don't work, too.
3./4. Sounds like you found some bugs. Please file the appropriate bug reports.

Just for the sake of curiosity: What is the limit size of an interior in OpenMW?
I remember an old discussion when Quorn was creating an interior version of Firemoth that the vanilla engine support around 24 cells, while having trouble with rendering water and another glitches. The solution was cutting out the terrain and turning into an only mesh. http://mw.modhistory.com/download-44-13853

The top link on Google for OpenCS is the OpenMW blog (even when using incognito and a proxy/VPN, so it's not just based off my web history), although it does try and correct it to OpenSC. If there are official OpenMW materials calling it OpenCS, it might be a bit late to nip it in the bud.DestinedToDie wrote:Might also be that "OpenCS" is quicker to type. Wikipedia says OpenMW-CS and our own FAQ and other official material says OpenMW-CS.AnyOldName3 wrote:The top link on Google for OpenCS is the OpenMW blog (even when using incognito and a proxy/VPN, so it's not just based off my web history), although it does try and correct it to OpenSC. If you come across any, post it here or in a PM to me.

Thanks!

OK, enough thread hijacking.

I am not aware of any limit. Of course if you make a cell truely gigantic eventually you would run into performance trouble. But I don't think there is a hard limit.Just for the sake of curiosity: What is the limit size of an interior in OpenMW?
