My FPS seems to stay at the 30FPS max that I set it at, but regardless of the FPS fairly often (especially outdoors) my character just starts walking like it's through molasses, then recovers, then slows down again, etc.
I know that's way to vague for anything useful, so what are the usual steps to try and track something down? I thought it was a performance issue before I realized the FPS wasn't dropping...

Press F3 a few times to get telemetry data and see what spikes.
If you can , record it for us please?

Oh... that's is interesting. Possibly SDL related? @akortunov what do you think?
@ulmont: if you use a keyboard and mouse, is that smoother or same as using stick on xbox controller?

Re: 0.47 / 0.49 Win 11 walking often slows down
I did some searching, it seems people with controllers are experiencing this across a lot of games: https://www.google.com/search?q=analog+ ... e&ie=UTF-8
@ulmont, did you have issues with using stick on controller with 0.47 or with one of the daily 0.49 dev builds?
Do you have issues with any other games you play on the the same system?

Keyboard and mouse is smooth.
Issues both on 0.47 and 0.49 daily (57e028fcc9).
I haven't noticed any issues with any other games, and went into a fighting game I have (a tribute to River City Ransom called Treachery in Beatdown City) to doublecheck, but I don't play a lot of games that use the stick much.
