No music

I've mentioned this issue several times on the Discord server already. I'm running the latest dev builds on Pop OS, and I get no music. To be precise, if I start a test game, there is no music. If I start a new game, the main theme just loops continuously.

This occurs with clean settings and openmw.cfg files, so it isn't a mod. Music plays on .47, so it isn't an issue with game files.

It's possible there's something weird with the PPA I used to access dev builds. I just followed the instructions via the Downloads page of this site, but among other oddities I can't see the exact build number in the launcher. I tried reinstalling, but it didn't seem to change anything. (I know I have the latest version because I can enable postprocess shaders from the launcher, which I know was just merged.)

If it's truly a bug, I'm happy to submit a bug report, but I'm surprised I haven't heard anyone else confirm this issue, so I want to make sure there isn't something wacky on my end first.

Post or attach your logs please.

Is it just music or both music and sounds?

Okay, then that indicates it’s a problem on my end. Any ideas?

Interesting observation: if I get into a fight, the battle music starts, and if the fight stops, exploration music begins. So it’s not that music doesn’t work; it’s that exploration music doesn’t start when the game launches.

FYI others are reporting the same issue on Discord. If you just opened the game to the title screen, you wouldn’t have necessarily observed the issue because in that case the title music will loop continuously until battle music is activated. That is, the issue is that the exploration music isn’t activating when you start OpenMW.
