Hello. Today I decided to try to set up Morrowind on my Linux system (Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS). I enabled Proton on Steam, downloaded Morrowind, even ran it once to see if it works, downloaded OpenMW from my system's app repository and ran the Installation Wizard. It couldn't find an existing installation so I pointed it to where Steam stored Morrowind. I specifically pointed to Morrowind.esm file when an error appeared that said:
Error detecting Morrowind files
Morrowind.bsa is missing!
Make sure your Morrowind installation is complete.
I checked the contents of Steam's Morrowind installation. Morrowind.bsa was there. I tried to reinstall the game. Did several integrity checks, all of which were completed successfully. Tried to reinstall OpenMW as well, to no avail. The installation wizard just won't acknowledge the existence of Morrowind.bsa for no apparent reason.
Any ideas what I did wrong?
Somehow I'm missing Morrowind.bsa
