Huge FPS drop in Onnissiralis Shrine

Post by Oknoye »

OpenMW version 0.47.0
Revision: a205c924b6
(I built it manually from source)
Shadows disabled

Whenever I enter Onnissiralis (Sheogorad region daedric ruin where the adamantium helm is), my FPS drops from 50-60 to 3.5. Haven't experienced this anywhere else.

I ran OpenMW from console so I have what I think are relating errors/warnings.
Probably a few THOUSAND times this but with different values in the first parentheses:
Spoiler: Show
And a couple 10s of this (again different values in the first parentheses):
Spoiler: Show
Also this:

Seems to be related to this issue. Any mods?

Okay, it looks like it's one of my mods because it doesn't happen with just the official plugins & dlcs. Vsync on or off.
I'll just check which one. Still it's weird that it happens only there. Why is that place special? :?

I've tried a new character with official dlcs and plugins only then also with my mods enabled and both were fine.
I've tried an old character with mods enabled and it was fine.

Somehow it seems that it only lags for this particular character. Could it be caused by a specific item or spell effect? Don't know what other difference could cause it...

Could you be using a custom race? That's what was the origin for the issue in that report, the player character was a Golden Saint (a part of Westly's golden saint mod).

I don't use any race mod. I'm using Westly's pluginless heads. I tried a new character with the same race and face but my fps was still fine.

Maybe. Do you have a savegame where this bug is stable-reproducable?

Not sure what you mean by that.
I created a save in front of Onnissiralis and every time I enter it's the same.
I tried to load that modded save without any mods, not even pluginless ones and the fps still drops but only to 9 in this case.

Anyway here's the savegame if it helps: https://megaup.net/4eFxg/Onnissiralis_lag.omwsave

Yes, it should help.
By the way, the issue is with the "ernard genis" NPC (his rotation is NaN for some reason), and it does not seem to be a regression (at least, this bug is present in attached save even in 0.45).

Is there a savegame with the same character, when you did not visit a buggy cell yet? The next step would be to catch a moment when his rotation becomes NaN.
Also for future reference: please compress your saves and upload them to more reliable storage (such as Dropbox, Google Drive or Yandex.Disk), or attach them directly to forum or bugtracker post.
