Hypothetical New 3DS Homebrew Port?

Post by QueenAdrian »

This is more to sate my own curiosity- I can barely handle GML, there's no way I could handle porting it over even if it was possible- but I'm curious if it'd be even remotely possible to get OpenMW running and playable on a hacked New 3DS.

I doubt it. There's no way there would be a stable enough performance for running it; the Nintendo Switch is much more viable.

Speaking of, does anyone know if you can compile OSG on the Nintendo Switch?

As much as I'd like it (I'm currently locked out of homebrew on Switch), I agree that even a New 3DS port wouldn't be possible. The thing about handheld consoles is that they're generally not as powerful as home consoles, let alone computers. The Switch is probably the closest thing to a powerful handheld we have, and a lot of porting possibilities I believe are mainly because the Switch has an nVidia Tegra chip inside of it.
