It has been almost a month. Do we have any updates on release readiness?

@raevol Want to take over a bit earlier this time? Looks like I will have a busy time ahead of me and I am not sure if I can keep track of this. As far as I am concerned we can go ahead with the release anytime now (except for the release videos of course). Just throw me a forum PM when you want me to do my part.

@zini , sounds good... is the changelog readyish? I can get started on it and keep the ticket numbers in so we can figure out any additional items to add when they come up. Also considering that, when do we make the release tag?

FYI: I'm back and currently working through the list of solved issues. Looks like this release is going to be big.

Any important or nice-to-have issues left for this release? Lysol's recent news post implies that some features are nearly finished (reverse pickpocketing, rain drop water ripples, shadows?!, distant land tweaks).
Well, it somehow mutated into a master thesis when I wasn't looking, but otherwise everything went well.

Is the broken Debian repos going to interfere with our release? I notice our daily PPA is still broken, will the release PPA be able to be built when the time comes?

Basically, we're waiting on a new release to fix the issue.
Then we can drop the patch downstream that was breaking things and the PPA will fix itself when we make a new release.
