Looks great. I hope it finds its way into master, one way or another.

After a lot of time fighting with MyGUI, I got the window title bar adapt:
title bar
title bar
I experimented with having the bars to the left and right of the caption be full instead of the stripe effect; but frankly the texture used for those bars looks terrible when tiled vertically.

I will so much need this if I am to continue with my stupid idea. It's very hard to read anything other than the journal.

With some more tweaking, I got the stats window to (mostly) work like Vanilla. There is the full size mode:
Stats window - full size
Stats window - full size
Then the compact mode, which only shows the left pane:
Stats window - compact (no skills)
Stats window - compact (no skills)
And the subcompact mode, which only shows health/magica/fatigue:
Stats window - subcompact (Health/Magicka/Fatigue only)
Stats window - subcompact (Health/Magicka/Fatigue only)
The "mostly" part is that neither the borders nor the skills scrollbox properly resize when you resize the window.

This would be so cool! Imagine the modding possibilities this could open up :) Custom GUI widgets for Morrowind :D
Durability indicator, Arrows left counter, would require some way for javascript to request information from the native code though, but cool nonetheless.
