Still getting nothing on the daily PPA. Is 15.04 no longer supported?

That's why I stick to the LTS versions, only upgrade every three years.

When I update using OpenMW Daily PPA, it reverts me back to version 37.0, how do I fix this?

When I click on openmw-launcher, on the bottom it reads, 'OpenMW 0.37.0 release'.

LTS won't save you here either. We plan on ditching support for precise (12.04) which is a burden to support.

I'm using Xubuntu 14.04 LTS, and I'm planning on upgrading to 16.04 LTS by January 2017.

You should be safe for now, we just recently switched to using Trusty on Travis-CI, so we'll need to support that for the long haul. Precise had too many missing dependencies and hacked up solutions.

As for the release version, I'm not sure what the deal is... it comes from master. Maybe there is something in the script automates things that places a version number.

Just updated again using the Daily Build PPA, looks like everything is fine now :)

If you have a spare server, I can give you the scripts...
Mine is sitting in the corner of my office, and I just moved offices - so every now and then I think the cleaning staff is unplugging it at night...

I should be up again
