I believe the .deb file here is broken.I've had a fun experience learning a little about the packaging system and getting OpenMW to build. Here is the result of my work: http://www.josephbleau.com/openmw_0.10.0-1_amd64.deb

Not working for something it was never intended for does not equal broken.
Looks good. Might have been easier using cpack than building the control file yourself but this is the proper way anyway

Thank you, and yes you are right. Forgive me I am new to Linux and so I naively assumed since other .deb files have worked for me, that Ubuntu just natively supported them however they were built. I guess there are subtleties I don't understand. Being completely honest the entire process is perhaps far more complicated on linux than it needs to be, compared to setting up a Windows installer, but I digress.
I am interested in setting up a PPA for this project as a way to learn how they work and also it's my way of helping what I think is a great project. I know c++ but am not familiar with the codebase and any of the libraries it uses, so while I've been poking around it, I want to help in meaningful ways. Making it accessible to people who might not have tried it otherwise sounds like a good start.
