When Looking through OpenMW Installation wizard can't find steam.

I use a Macbook air 2015.
When I look through the installation wizard to select the data files to allow morrowind to run, I can't find steam in application support. However once I leave and look through finder I can find all of it just fine even going all the way back to library.
Does someone have any idea why this is happening? I have never done anything like this before and have been having a heck of a time trying to get this to work. And honestly I am at the end of my rope and ready to punt my laptop out a window.
Just to confirm I have downloaded Morrowind and all the files I need are there but I can't locate them through OpenMW.
Any help is appreciated.

Never mind I found a work around.
I just took the whole game file from steam and relocated it to my desktop. That allows me to find it and everything works.
