Cannot Install nightly nightly openmw

Post by lelorrain »

Under Ubuntu 18.04.5, I try to install openmw and get the following error:

$ sudo apt-get install openmw openmw-launcher openmw-data
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
openmw-launcher : Depends: qt512base but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

You'll need qt512base, if you don't have this then you can't run.

It's available here:
https://launchpad.net/~beineri/+archive ... 2.0-bionic

I've posted about this in our ppa nightly thread. It's because latest code requires a later version of Qt which isn't available in in Bionic. Please read the PPA link above carefully and follow their directions.

Updated your title.
