No idea how to install this

Ok, so here's what I've experienced trying to install this thing:

1. Went to website & downloads page.
2. Clicked on "Download from Github".
3. First post on github says: "The OpenMW team is proud to announce the release of version 0.45.0! Grab it from our Downloads Page (https://openmw.org/downloads/) for all operating systems". This link takes me back to the page I was just on.
4. Went back to Github, clicked on the tiny little "openmw-0.45.0" link.
5. Clicked on the little green button that says "Clone or download" and downloaded a ZIP.
6. Extracted zip file and looked for some kind of .exe anywhere in the folders to no avail.
7. Opened readme, followed link to installation instructions.
8. Installation instructions tell me to just "install the game" and "the launcher will find the files."
9. Looked again for a launcher in the launcher directory, no exe there.
10. Came to support forums and opened the FAQ, no instructions there.
11. Made this post.

Did I download the wrong thing? How do you run this mythical launcher?

Almost... should have read below the release announcement on https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/releases
At the bottom is "Assets", there you will find your exe of choice.

Awesome, thanks so much for that. I was definitely thrown off by the announcement telling me to go to another page...
