NIF/blender in linux

Post by tmillc » 06 Apr 2015, 14:07

I'm finding it to be a surprising hassle to get up and running with editing the NIF files in blender, what's the best way to get this going? I've been messing with the install script of blender_nif_plugin to no real avail and nifskope failed to compile (something to do with qhull) and feeling like I must be missing the easy route.

As far as I could find there is no route, not even a difficult route.

The blender nif export function only works at a basic level and only with obsolete blender versions. This years work of the nif exporter team is to get bones working, implying that animations may be next year or later and nifscope has been broken on Arch foe years.

I have wasted weeks trying to get anything to work until I abandoned the idea.
Arch Linux - rolling release, always up to date, often partly broken.

Well that's sad to hear, but thanks for letting me know.
