Can't start the game (No content file given)

Post by mammuthus »

Hi all. Have no idea but I can't start openmw.
Linux Mint 16 Petra, latest openmw from official rep.

What did i do:
1. Install openmw and openmw-launcher
2. Take Morrowind.esm from original game (GOTY iso) and put it into /home/morrowind
3. Edit cfg (put .esm full path in "resources=")
4. Start openmw with openmw command in terminal

But have receive an error:

Code: Select all

Installing crash catcher
Loading config file: /etc/openmw/openmw.cfg... done.
Using default (English) font encoding.
No content file given (esm/esp, nor omwgame/omwaddon). Aborting...
Okay. Also I tried to take full "Data Files" folder, not only one .esm file. But error the same.
Google couldn't help me. And it seems your wiki manuals are out if date. Please help.

Hi,
try to install Morrowind via openmw-launcher (you have to clean $HOME/.config/openmw directory first).
best regards,

Might want to double check if you have installed the "openmw-launcher" package. If you don't have icons in your menu, start "omwlauncher" via the terminal, or use the one in /usr/games/.
