0.27.0 Bugs (Windows 7)

Post by Nomadic1 »

Hi all, I downloaded and installed this version of OpenMW,it's looking good and loads faster for me than vanilla Morrowind does. :) There are however a couple of things I noticed.

Launcher: Only 11 out of 25 esps/esms appear in the list of plugins (both for OpenMW and OpenCS)
As the title says. I have 25 esps and esms in my Data Files directory, but I can select only 11 of these in the launcher. Likewise, only these 11 plugins are selectable in OpenCS.

OpenMW: Initially can't enter input when OpenMW loaded
When I first ran OpenMW, Beshara loaded up no worries. However I couldn't initially do anything - input wasn't being picked up from mouse/keyboard. I had to press the Windows key and then click on OpenMW from the task bar before I could start moving around.

OpenMW: Weird behaviour on loading bar upon leaving Beshara
When I left Beshara, the loading bar came up. Initially a blue section of the bar about 1/5 the total width of the bar slides back and forth across the loading bar. Then when it says 'Loading Area' the loading bar works as intended. It's kinda weird.

OpenMW: Ordinators can't walk up the ramps in Vivec
It's kinda funny. When walking around Vivec I heard what I thought was the butt-thumping of scribs really loud. Turns out it was the ordinators stuck walking up and down the ramps.

OpenCS: Journals doesn't open
As it says, 'Journals' doesn't do anything when selected.

OpenCS: All new windows after the first, appear as a thin frame-thing to the right
After the first selection is made, every other window selection made will appear as a thin widget to the of the screen.

I constantly accelerate when jumping forward.

Water refraction doesn't seem to do anything when reflection is turned off but it still effects framerate.

NPCs that use heads from the (Race) Redone mods have their heads floating backward above their bodies. They don't show up in chargen either.

No face: http://i.imgur.com/yTcd4Xf.png
Floating head: http://i.imgur.com/NBzDoxb.png
Chargen: http://i.imgur.com/ZBKiSmz.png

Now I'm having another problem. When I fall I keep getting stuck in a looping animation as soon as I hit the ground. My health goes to zero. If I'm in third person, I die instantly. If I'm in first person I'm constantly flailing my arms, unable to move. As soon as I switch to third person I die. I can consistently reproduce this in the starting cell but nowhere else.

Also movement seems really jerky. It looks like I'm getting really low framerates whenever I'm moving but the fps counter says I'm not. It looks like rather than walking I'm teleporting a tiny distance several times per second.

This one is already on the tracker: http://bugs.openmw.org/issues/856

I'm pretty sure this is due to unimplemented features: http://bugs.openmw.org/issues/427, and the fact that Vanilla doesn't have 1st person death animations.

The animation isn't really the problem. It's the fact that if I fall from any height in Beshara I die. It can also happen if I just bump into something. I just figured out that if I leave the cell and return it wont happen. It's only right after I start the game. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm on Win7 64bit.

I think commit fc268bf3028e2815577ec9079c87cb0743a43088 should have fixed the random damage when falling bug. It's not in 0.27.

Must be a different bug then. I set my health to 9999 and when I jumped I died the instant I landed. Happens every time, unless I leave Beshara. Have you tested this on Win7 64?

Either these belong to a different game file (try the combobox at the top of the content selector). Or plugins that don't specify dependencies are more common than we thought (that would be very bad). Or there is a bug in the content file selector code.
OpenCS: Journals doesn't open
As it says, 'Journals' doesn't do anything when selected.
Any error message when running OpenCS from the console?

About that, I was meaning to ask you how you're supposed to select game files that don't have dependencies. I do believe there are quite a few of them around.

What about adding non-dependency game files to the addon selection list when another game file is selected. I.e. selecting Morrowind.esm would add every non-dependency game file to top of the addon list.
