Optimization Questions

Installed OpenMW a while back, and am loving it so far.
Installed some mods to make the environment look alive and of high quality.
With help of the OpenMW Documentation I found a nice "sweet spot" with regards to viewing distance and render distance.
I can see far, but get no trees clipping in.

With all the config done, I do run into 2 issues I can't solve.
Decided to ask for help here.

1. Resolution changes automatically
I'm running the game on a 4k TV, but have set the resolution of the game to 1080p. This avoids "tearing" when walking outside.
Moreover 1080p resolution looks good enough for me.
However the game sometimes automatically resets back to a 4k resolution. Is there a way to "lock" the 1080p resolution so that it doesn't change anymore?

2. "Loading" when entering a new zone
When entering a new zone by walking outside, I sometimes see the "loading bar" at the bottom.
I know this is due to the game loading the next area. Is there anything that can be done to make the game load areas a bit earlier?
I'm running the game on a heavy game rig, so pushing the hardware a bit more should not be an issue.

Hope anyone has some useful advice.

Additional question:
I made a lot of changes with regards to view and load distance in settings.cfg using version 0.46
If I were to upgrade to version 0.47, do these settings still work?
Some of these settings are not listed in the version 0.47 documentation.
Are setting backward compatible across versions?

This sounds like a driver / OS issue.

Are you running fullscreen or windowed ?
