Fog shader?

I know everyone is duly excited about shadows today, but I'm wondering about visvaldas' fog shader. Is there any reason not to use magamo's patchless implementation? Is there another more up-to-date patchless version available?

Funny, I was just thinking about this old post the other day. I would love to have something like this as an option! What better way to improve Morrowind's atmosphere than to... well, improve Morrowind's atmosphere?

Unfortunately, visvaldis's newer version does a lot more deep plumbing in the code, and a patchless version is not really feasible. Hopefully he'll come back and make a merge request at some point.

The old patchless version may work with modification, but as it stands, I highly doubt it will be compatible with shadows out of the box.

Alas. Thanks for the answer. Here's hoping for a merge request then.

Still, it's cool the team has added so many new features. Better count our blessings :).

It looks like I wasn't the only one still thinking about the old good fog shader. I would really love to see it merged.

The fog shader might be another awesome addition to 0.46 or later. I'm hoping that it's getting merged sometime as something that you could turn on and off in the ini/launcher/or in-game.
