It can't run Fallout 3. What do you think yet means exactly?

There is no Fallout 3 compatibility at all. But there might be someday. cc9cii has been working on getting the files supported (which would basically mean that you could walk around the map of Fallout 3/Fallout NV/Oblivion, NOT that you could play the game in any meaningful way), but that's a lot of work for one person. Remember, this is a community project and people work on it in their free time. It's taken more than a decade to get compatibility with Morrowind, and if they could just press a button and make another game that is on the "same engine" (yes they are the same game engine but with years of technical changes between each one) just work someone would have a long time ago.

Calling an OpenMW developer a dummy and "this other guy" is a dick move. He literally said it can't run Fallout3, if you can't trust a developer then who can you trust?

Seriously, the guy who donated his time and skill to give OpenMW shadows and you called him a dummy? If you want OpenMW succeed as a project, then try to at least be supportive and polite.

Using the word "yet" means that it might be possibly one day, in the far future, but not today.

The only support for Fallout3 in OpenMW exists in an apart branch, and that is based on years old version of OpenMW and even then it is only for loading assets of FO3 into Morrowind... so you basically have a walking simulator; no "game" to be played.

The hope is that eventually we'll have all the bits ready for OpenFO3 (Fallout3 specific) and that this will co-exists with OpenMW which is Morrowind specific and they both share most of the same code.

Thanks for the info. My original post was deleted or didn't upload so the context in which I called him/her a dummy is absent. I appreciate the work thats been done, but I find it odd that somebody would make a smarta$# comment to someone whose interested in the nuts and bolts of OMW. I just thought it was cool that maybe in the future there would be Fallout 3, etc. compatability. A side note: Not everybody hits the news button all the time.

I think that is a perceptional problem, I'm not seeing anything smartass in AnyOldName3's comments. He told it exactly how it is. I too am curious how someone could misunderstand what "Upstream OpenMW doesn't support any of the later games yet. When it eventually does, there won't be any particular extra work for Android." means, and then fumble on "I literally just said that it doesn't yet.".

Both of those are fairly optimistic statements in context of the Android port.

If it bothers you though, PM me. Otherwise... let's move on. :)

He said "I literally just said that". Thats smart aleck. I called him a dummy because he never answered my question in the preceding post. You wanna be cute, fine. But, at least stick to the topic. Anyways, I enjoy this program.

Very well could be perceptional on both sides. Twitter screwed it up.

You said
Wait, OMW can play fallout 3 too?! What other games?
right after I'd just said it couldn't. Your question didn't make sense in context.
