Alchemy QoL improvements?

Post by Mantar »

Are there any mods that make alchemy easier to deal with, like alchemy ingredient jars or sorters, that work with OpenMW and/or TES3MP?
With all the expansions and Tamriel Rebuilt/Province mods, there's a ton of alchemy ingredients and it becomes difficult to move so many ingredients in and out of your inventory, clicking and dragging one stack at a time, and the alchemy interface could be easier to deal with, too.
Most of these kinds of things require MWSE, so they don't work. I'm wondering if anybody knows of mods to make an alchemist's life easier that do work?

Uvirith's Legacy has an alchemy sorter table, but you can only get your hands on it when you are Archmagister Telvanni and after a quest (and be sure to use the OpenMW patches available somewhere in these forums). I *think* it handles TR ingredients but you may either need a patch for the most recent TR versions or there may be none available. Building Up Uvirith's Legacy adds a similar facility, but with similar constraints (is a quest, only after construction of your stronghold starts, etc.), so it will take a while to make use of it. Calislahn's Balmora River House also has an alchemy sorter -- you get the house for free right after talking to Caius and it has some nice loot inside, so it may or may not suit you. The sorter works, although at times a bit wonky (e.g. you have to sort twice), and it automatically transfers all ingredients to jars. No TR patch.

I am sure there are other options, but these are the ones I know and use.

Calislahn's River House sounds like the best best for me, thanks! I'll have to see if it works in TES3MP as well.

I just recently found this very handy portable house mod that features a very fast sorter for all most anything (including alchemy). It works without MWSE (Just one feature of the mod needs it, and it's ignored if you don't have it).
There is some high level loot and all skill books included. But you can ignore that of course:

"MORI MOUNTAIN ESTATE" http://mw.modhistory.com/download-44-15588 has Zippy the ingredient sorting mouse and storage jars for all your ingredients. It's a nice house with lots of features including a large hidden dungeon. It's almost completely compatible with OpenMW .47 nightly build (haven't tried it with .46 yet). The trapdoor on the roof works now, and the mannequins in the main room also work properly. One of the mannequins in the alchemy room seems to have issues and rises up into the air when you enter the room. Otherwise everything else worked when I last tested it.

Not really QoL, but I'd recommend "Secret Master's Alchemy Equipment" http://mw.modhistory.com/download-35-11452 which adds the Secret Master Alchemy set and makes it purchasable at Nalcarya of White Haven's Balmora Alchemy shop. It's not cheap.

I also read some good comments about "Orrutus Cavern" http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... f=50&t=911 which has an ingredient sorter/dersorter, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
