I did find the console output, you talked about in the ASH thread I posted, but how can I know what has to do with what mod? Currently it looks like this for me.

Also, I think I spotted an error on the wiki page about installing mods. It states:

Add a new line below the one you just sought out and make a new entry of the format 'data="/path/to/your/mod"'
  • If your mod folder is '~/MWMods/TamrielRebuilt' you add a line reading 'data="~/MWMods/TamrielRebuilt"'
  • Note that a trailing slash is not necessary.
  • Note the double quotes around the path name. These are not optional!
But when I do it with double quotes, nothing happens. When i remove them, everything works fine :

That's really weird - according to GitHub, I was the last person to touch that code, and it definitely required quote marks then - boost::program_options creates boost::paths via a stream, and when being created from a stream, they definitely require quote marks.

Nah, there isn't really much to it. You can simply copy and paste an existing table entry and modify it -- make sure to keep the alphabetical order though! If you have any questions, pm me.

Ideally, you would deactivate all mods except the one you want to test. As you suspect the script to fail, you would search for matching console warning/error messages. -- OpenMW hasn't caught anything useful in your case, just a few vanilla-related warning messages and several errors regarding .nif files included in the Bitter Coast Sounds mod.

I've always used double quotes. Any Linux users out there who can help?

Edit: Looks like AnyOldName3 beat me to it. The issue still is a mystery though.

I do not need help with it, as it works fine for me but I thought I'd mention it so you all know about it. It is a bit odd the linux and windows version should differ in that regard.

Right, small update here.

Now this seems to work for me and Im very confused. The quotes around the graphic herbalism mod were added without me knowing it. Since I came on this by accident I tried to add another mod with and that worked as well. So now, both with and without quotes like this:

Boost Program Options cuts off anything it reads in at a line break, so if it's already magically ignoring quotes, it shouldn't hurt them to be mismatched.

As for the general investigation of this issue, I've put all my findings in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3980

I've been completely unable to reproduce the behaviour you're getting - for me, it always works when there are quotes and always doesn't work when there aren't. That means that in order to work out what's going on, I'll need the test done on your machine. There are some vague instructions included in that thread, but if you need something more specific, I can help with that.
