Re: them feels
I also can't wait for the latest update as well as using OSG as my Morrowind is highly modded on a Windows box, so the performance is currently not great. It is a bit like waiting for Christmas as a child this, isn't it!

Haha yes definitely!robcbwilson wrote:It is a bit like waiting for Christmas as a child this, isn't it!
Re: them feels
Scrawl just authored a commit titled "OpenMW: create a window and render the starting cell(s)" and it's a doozy: https://github.com/scrawl/openmw/commit ... 1f0d7865a2
Re: them feels
Wow. That's a lot of code removed.
Re: them feels
That is porn. Look at all that Ogre code going out the window... It's for the better of course, but in a way, this must kinda hurt a little bit, all that time and energy so unceremoniously removed.
Re: them feels
My completely uneducated guess is that a whole lot of that code is going to be written back in. It looks like a lot of that is animation code, and OpenMW will need new code written in to interface with OSG.
If I am correct though, I think scrawl already figured out a lot of that animation code, and just needs to get it into the main engine.
Please note I really know nothing about this and could be completely wrong about everything...

Re: them feels
Oh yeah, I'm not saying that the code got a lot shorter permanently. It's just a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge update.
