360 degree screenshots?

Hey guys, I've got this idea about having 360 degree, full-spherical screenshots. You'd be able to make things like Morrowind street view etc. I'm super excited about this and would like to make this a feature in the bug tracker, but I would firstly like to discuss it - are there more people who'd be excited about this? What mapping would be best to use (cubemaps maybe?)? How about stereo screenshots? If you think this is stupid, just throw it at me :)

I am always excited about new features, especially like this one.

my trippy experiments, the cubemap is weirdly warped somehow, anyway looks cool :)

EDIT: But I think it's OK, the warp is caused by the camera not being aligned with world axes, which I could do (but also could leave it like this).

Thanks. That's OK, there's a lot of attention about shadows and the new version coming out. I'm having problems with water reflections right now so I'll be fixing it and when I have a working version, I'll show this on GitHub to get some feedback.

I have some working implementation, will make the PR soon. Unfortunately I had to disable reflections and refractions for water (still looks good though). Maybe people on GitHub will help me.

I went crazy with the screenshots here: https://imgur.com/a/KWo9K.

EDIT: Tried to make a wallpaper :p
