Looking nice even though I can't think of much use beyond being a nice gimmick. Not saying there isn't any use, just that someone else will have a better vision of what to do with this
I do know however, that for an authentic Morrowind experience in 360° you'll need to add a check whether a cliffracer is in view, and if not, postprocess one into the screenshot.

Using those cube maps for save screen shots might be worth exploring.

You know what? I used to make Morrowind Ambient videos for a channel I'm no longer on, and 360 view would have made them killer, especially the travel one... I could use this on my new channel... when OpenMW is complete of course. Gotta have all them bells and whistles!

This is how cubemap generation in some professional game engines, like Source Engine, works. Definitely not just a toy.
