Player character slots

What happens when I create New game? I started playing Oblivion but I'm now stuck because I added a house mod with crafting, cooking, fishing etc functionality for my daughter. I cannot continue playing. I don't know if I loose the current game, if I would create new game, new char, for myself.
OpenMW should have slots for different games. Each would have their own savefiles.

This is already the case. When Loading, you first select which character you've created that you want to play from a dropdown, then you select the savegame from the menu when you start the game.
