Hey y'all! I'm primarily a web dev with some experience with C++. I would love to help out with the website perhaps by crating a separate intro page and moving the current home page into a blog. Or maybe also overhauling the design of the site. I'm also interested in helping out with the game engine! I had no trouble with building openmw on Arch with CLion.

Welcome.

Please go through the developer checklist if you haven't already. Whether it be small bug squashing, new engine features or the long-awaited progress on OpenMW-CS, I look forward to seeing your contributions. :)

Thank you! By chance, does anyone know who hosts and controls the website?

Our backend for the site is Wordpress, and we've been pretty happy with it I think. Intro pages are a big no-no in the modern web. The theme definitely could use some work or an overhaul, but note that the theme is a wordpress theme, phpBB theme, and redmine theme, so all three pieces need to be done at the same time.

If I was new to this site and entered the home page, all I would see are blog posts, with nothing telling me exactly what OpenMW is. So I'm thinking a new homepage explaining it and linking to everything else would be nice.

But is that the first thing a user will click on once they arrive on the website? You want the user to be able to know everything without having to think

Hi,
if you would like to make a changes to the website first you have to:
  • prepare at least a wordpress and phpbb template (redmine and mediawiki would be nice to see)
  • prepare a live demo (on some webserver), so we could see it
  • and upload the sources to the github for code review

And this will only be your use case for one of all of the visits you make. Every subsequent visit you will be looking for the latest news.
