Hum...
How did I discovered openmw is a good question, with the exact answer lost in time abysses...

I think I discovered it on sourceforge, because at those times I was often there to hunt potentially interesting C++ softwares (at least, not java: I never liked the idea behind it), and more probably games.
I guess I have seen just another alpha project, but it was around one of my favourite games so I kept it in bookmarks, looking from time to time (a little like I do for keeperfx)
I have probably lost the bookmark because my computers are well known to be highly unstable, remembered one day about this (maybe after speaking about morrowind ?) and so did a search (on google I think, I am not using duckduckgo since so many times). Found this blog, noticed it have frequent news, started to lurk them, and one day for a reason I do not remember registered, but it does not means that I participate in any way.

I don't remember when and how did I discover OpenMW. Can remember only old site with very few screenshots. At that time I did not even understand what is the open source, but because it concerned Morrowind I could not overlook it. Since then I started to check it.

Discovered OpenMW by the thread at Tamriel Rebuilt.

I... can't remember...
(I'm missing my journal, and I'm looking for Pharod... )

Maybe from Tamriel rebuilt forum, maybe from searching an alternative to Wine, maybe from Sourceforge...

I just found the link here:
http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/ ... morrowind/

I came here today and signed up.
Not sure why or what I'm expecting but I have spent many many hours playing with the construction set and Morrowind since the day it came out.
I also mess with 3DSmax8 and Nifskope.
I have yet to read everything about OpenMW but it certainly is interesting to see people still dedicated to the game.

I have a continuous mod that will never be finished as I just keep adding to it and have reached the point where my system is bogging down on the content - my Morrowind folder is over 20 gb in size now. I do the same with Oblivion and am also at max size (50gb)

Welcome, and thanks for your answer.
If you are interested on helping this project you seem like a person who would want to help with the example suite. You should definitely check out their board.

As mentioned in the other thread, I saw it on the front page of overclock.net in the news section.

I've been posting release news there for the last 3 or 4 releases, I think. They usually get 3 pages of responses or there about. So not especially popular for an OCN news post, but people do read them. Makes me feel like I'm contributing to PR, anyway :D

Well, you're also maintaining the steam group and the bethesda forums and who knows which sites, not to speak of your release videos :). Anyways, if you feel like having a lot on your hands just post the sites you're maintaining on the outreach wiki and we'll help maintaining. I've already added the steam group and will be adding this site too, with a note that you're maintaining it atm.
