Quickloot and MorroUI

Post by ajira2 »

Hi, I was watching Darkelfguy talk about this mod and looks fantastic! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-6keyNdTC0&t=650s

Do you think it could be made compatible with OpenMW 0.47 or 0.48? Or it's still to early?

Also I love MorroUI. I would love that it always used the latest OpenMW release, since seems stuck in 0.46. I would really like that you could download separately OpenMW and MorroUI. What do you think about that? https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/47806

Cheers and good work.
Peace to everybody.

Quick answer, until someone more qualified comes in, with better and more accurate info: too early. Until the LUA Api is merged in, the chance of getting this in OpenMW is close to nil and even then it *may* take some non-trivial amount of work, but how much will depend on the stable API and how well it matches with what MWSE-Lua can currently do and on the details of the mod. It may also need the Great de-Hardcode, the near mythical post 1.0 process of transferring as much as possible that is hard coded in the engine to the game data, and thus moddable.

Hi, the end goal is for me to do this all in Lua, if everything goes right it should all be doable. List based interfaces, quickloot, etc.. None of these things will be part of OpenMW though.

Lua scripting is being worked on, but it is still far from being able to do the things necessary for me to convert any of my work. When Lua initially lands it almost certainly will not support custom UI/replacing current UI. For all the reasons lambda stated above i'll likely have to wait a while before attempting this. I know @urm worked on getting custom UIs for Tes3mp, but I'm not sure how easily that work can transfer over.
