I love having the shadows, and no more yellow boxes everywhere, but I'm not sure if it's worth the trade-off of transparent water that reflects/refracts everything like a fever dream - regardless of how I play with the settings, bar turning the shader off entirely.
I'm running OpenMW in Ubuntu 18.04.4 , and as stated, no issues in 0.45. I've seen someone with a similar problem saying the issue is with not having a legacy version of libpng, which also fixed their problem, but this was with version 0.30. I tried installing the library from terminal with no luck.
Is anyone else having a similar issue with 0.46?
Water shader issues in two recent 0.46 nightlies, but not in 0.45, any idea why?

I'm using a fairly recent nightly (0.46.0 revision: 8779d261ba) on Linux and the water effects look great.

Screenshots or videos could help here.

Same thing happened to me on Debian. Get yourself a copy of libpng12 specifically and symlink it to the /lib folder of the nightly installation.
