November 2.
TOORU, THORAPITTA! TAARA, AVITA!
November 3.
That damn auroch! I can see what my wife was talking about, the thing has too short a temper to milk. The moment I knelt down I got kicked in the head. On the bright side, we won't be short on meat for the next week. I got half the job done, but it was getting late, so I decided to leave the other half for tomorrow.
November 4.
I was just finishing up with what was left of the auroch yesterday when I heard the bell. Time for dinner, I thought. But when I arrived at the table, what awaited me was a plate of bones.
"What is this?", I asked my wife.
"What, you don't like my cooking?"
I knew how she was. It wasn't worth throwing oil in the fire. Not with her. But as I sat down, disgusted in the inside by the absurdity of my children and MYSELF having to chew on the leftover meat on bones when we had an entire auroch wasting away by the second... I heard a thump.
And then another thump. This one slightly closer than the previous. "Do you hear that?" My family kept quietly chewing their bones as the thumps were getting closer. And finally, the door opened. A giant of a man stepped in. He was overly muscular, bare naked, his skin was different and his face - it was not that of a human. I was looking at a monster.
I was about to fall out of my chair and tried yell "run!", but what escaped my lips was but a pathetic squeak in response to a man of that stature. I turned my head towards my children, ready to jump on my feet and rush them out, but what I saw stopped me in my tracks. They kept quietly chewing on the bones as if nothing happened.
"What's wrong, dear?", asked my wife while snickering at my pitiful reaction. I muddled out a "N...nn...nothing." in my frightened state.
The giant man had now sat behind the table. Or to be more precise, in front of the table, given that his feet could not fit below it. Come to think of it, he fit in the chair perfectly. The very same chair, which I had put together and was twice as big as our chairs. Why did I make that extra chair?
Furthermore, there was already a plate placed where the giant man sat. It had a pile of the auroch's best parts. He snatched a piece of meat off the top of the pile and started munching on it. "Why aren't you eating?", he suddenly inquired with a deep monotone voice. So I started chewing on the bare bones I was given on my plate.
November 5.
I am too afraid to do anything. That thing eats with us, sleeps with us, lives with us. I'm supposed to be doing work, but while I'm away he plays with my children. He did something unimaginable to the house cat and now it's dead. My wife thinks I'm acting strange. Perhaps I'm crazy. All I know is I can't leave my family alone with him.
November 6.
He approached me today and asked me why I was not working. I explained it all and he told me not to worry, that he'll make me right tomorrow. Until then, I should continue living as usual. So I went to the fields to continue my work. I felt much better after talking to him. Perhaps I was worried about nothing after all?
