Translating the switch to OSC announce in French

Post by vv221 »

I’m currently translating the following announce to French for a news article on linuxfr.org:
https://openmw.org/2015/announcing-swit ... cenegraph/

I just need your help to understand how to translate the short paragraph "Material stencil support": what is this "stencil", what does it do?

Of course, once it done I’ll share the full translation here so you can add it to the OpenMW website ;)

Well, I can keep the word in English, but I need to understand its meaning to be able to translate the part about it.

'stencil' is the term OpenGL uses to describe certain write-masking functionality. The name comes from the same word since it's intended function is similar to the masking technique.
