OpenMW 0.23 mac build.
Re: OpenMW 0.23 mac build.
Actually, it would not be a lot of work (unless new problems show up that we are not aware of yet). A few hours for someone who knows what he is doing. But yeah, small audience and definitely not a primary platform at the moment, therefore low priority.

Re: OpenMW 0.23 mac build.
I'm wonder if old macs are powerfull enough for the current openmw
Re: OpenMW 0.23 mac build.
Well speaking purely after the fact (probably 1.0 or later).. Believe it or not the old PPC ibook are going for solid 80-100 bucks USD, I have no idea about the desktop PPC macs but, I know the later ibooks standard have 32mb Vram with an AGP 4X ATI Radeon 9200 or 9550. I would imagine the PPC mac pros are (desktop & books) have even beefier specs. Any ways there seems to be a still active (probably small) cult following still using PPC.
32mb does seems a little slim but maybe with all the optimizations it might be doable on low gfx settings?

Re: OpenMW 0.23 mac build.
9550 support shader model 2.0. 9200 only 1.4. OpenMW requires shader model 2.0.
What about RAM? 512 mb is minimum ─ on linux. OSX is RAM hungry and Apple has a long tradition of inserting not enough RAM in their computers so I suspect another problem here.
I think that old powerPC laptops are on the lost position at the moment. Maybe iMac's have better chances.

most iBook have least 1 gb ram, the last model came with 512mb stock, generally you would be looking at 1.5 gb of ram. (probably more for desktop)

Could you please test it on your mac?
I want some testing before releasing it to the wild.
Thanks!

Re: OpenMW 0.23 mac build.
Works for me (aside from the poor framerate, but that's due to my system)
iMac early 2009, 2.66GHz Core2Dua, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 9400M, OS X 10.8.3

Re: OpenMW 0.23 mac build.
why? you should be getting good frame rates.
Re: OpenMW 0.23 mac build.
I have always had poor framerate in both Morrowind (Wine and Windows) in outside areas and in OpenMW. Indoor areas are usually fine, I don't get to full 60FPS, but it's still OK. Outdoor areas on the other hand drop below 20FPS (to around 10 FPS), even with lowest settings. I always assumed it's my crappy graphics card having problems with the open world.

what about other games?
