So, supposedly bump mapping was added here.
Does anyone know of a good way to show this off? I recall there being a bump mapped Vivec texture, and perhaps one for Telvanni mushroom models. Im just thinking that it might be something we can show off in the 0.23.0 video.
Bump mapping

Caverns Bump mapped by Lougian - Beautiful. With OpenMW is perfect.

Re: Bump mapping
Another good one HiRez Armors- Native Styles V2

And a quick fix by papill6n

But the armors behave differently in Morrowind with MCP and OpenMW. The ordinators should have a metallic gloss, which lacks in OpenMW. A bug?

Another bug: Bump-mapped AOFs Imperial Housing with optional Vanilla-Friendly Retexture by Elmer
OpenMW crashes with this installed.
OpenMW crashes with this installed.
Re: Bump mapping
Works for me. Did you install the required "Imperial Housing Retextured V2"?Greendogo wrote: OpenMW crashes with this installed.
Re: Bump mapping
Yes, I did. I'm using this version, are you? I thought you had UI problems.
Re: Bump mapping
Did anyone find this one really dark?Amenophis wrote:Caverns Bump mapped by Lougian - Beautiful. With OpenMW is perfect.

Re: Bump mapping
Works for me too. And looks incredible by the way. Wouldn't mind this being shown in the video.Lazaroth wrote:Works for me. Did you install the required "Imperial Housing Retextured V2"?Greendogo wrote: OpenMW crashes with this installed.
If you open its texture file you can see that it really is very dark. The reason it's not so dark in vanilla is because MW only has faked bump mapping that applies to the environment map instead of lighting. Our method applies it properly so some mods might look slightly different.Greendogo wrote:Did anyone find this one really dark?
Re: Bump mapping
Well that's a good thing, I suppose. However it might mean that bump map mods for Vanilla will need to be altered for OpenMW. We should put that on the Wiki.
Anyways, I got it to work for anyone who might have the same problem I did. I had to reinstall OpenMW 0.22.0 50D8353, I guess because some file had some setting that was screwing it up. I also went ahead and deleted all the old settings files located where OpenMW sticks the cfg file and screenshots, and now all of a sudden my water in OpenMW is A LOT nicer than it was before. Weird.
And yes, the bump mapped Imperial architecture is awesome, now that I got it to work.

Re: Bump mapping
I did the suggestion I got, to use OpenGL instead of Direct3d, and that fixed it. I'm waiting for this to get fixed tho, since I get less fps with OpenGL.Greendogo wrote:Yes, I did. I'm using this version, are you? I thought you had UI problems.
I tried the other bump mods I found too, Hlaalu, Redoran and Telvanni. They too look good, although the Vivec one I don't care about.
