Re: OpenMW won't launch (Linux Mint 20.1)

There are no groovy packages for 0.46 from our PPA. Have a look here: https://launchpad.net/~openmw/+archive/ubuntu/openmw/+packages The reason for this is that 0.46 and OSG 3.6.5 already exist on Ubuntu's Groovy release. If you wish to use version 0.46, then you'll need remove our PPA and downgrade...

Re: OpenMW 0.48.0

That was the intention for 0.47; but there was a lag with the amount of work that needed to be done to get OP in shape, especially when the original author went missing.

The hope is that the people behind these major features stay around. :)

Re: Strange perfomance problem: FPS is much better the first time I run openMW (nightly build)

Scrawl mentioned this in his commit message: Use IncrementalCompileOperation to incrementally upload OpenGL objects during the loading screen For now, not much difference, but should result in a sizable speed up once MyGUI no longer needs the DYNAMIC flag (i.e. the loading screen truly renders in th...

Re: OpenMW will not launch on Xubuntu 20.04

Normally... just: sudo apt update; sudo apt dist-upgrade You can see what versions you have here: dpkg -l | grep -i openmw Should reveal something like this ii openmw 0.46.0-1~openmw1~focal6 amd64 Reimplementation of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind ii openmw-data 0.46.0-1~openmw1~focal6 all Resourc...

Re: OpenMW won't launch (Linux Mint 20.1)

Do you run that version of nvidia because your card is old and not supported by newer versions?

Why not just try Ubuntu? In theory, our PPA should work with Mint (Ubuntu based), but it's not a guarantee.

Re: OpenMW won't launch (Linux Mint 20.1)

OpenMW does not require libvdpau.so.1, that is dependency from your nvidia drivers. So it seems like your Mint installation is a bit screwed up and you're working around that issue. If you have tried with 0.46 and it doesn't launch, then 0.47 won't either which just reinforces the conclusion that th...

Re: OpenMW won't launch (Linux Mint 20.1)

Just a guess, can you set the lighting setting to "legacy" and see what happens?

Can you validate which version you ate running? Are you running 0.47 (nightly) or 0.46? Does 0.46 eun for you?

Re: OpenMW 0.47.0

RC1 for Ubuntu are being build now: https://launchpad.net/~openmw/+archive/ubuntu/staging

You'll need both the ppa:openmw/openmw and ppa:openmw/openmw-daily ; as they contain libs you'll need.

Bionic will take time though, many things busted with bionic

Re: OpenMW 0.47.0

The branch: openmw-47 has been made. Please begin the RC process. We need update to date packages of OSGoS, "3.6" branch for MacOS and for Windows. Possibly also for the Generic Linux builds as well. The Ubuntu PPA already has this. We've had a lot of coverage lately with our nightly build...
