Re: Crashing on startup in Arch Linux

For whatever is worth the settings in Arch are in the home subdir .config/openmw It should have normal permissions, so you may have messed something up. And as others said, do *not* use sudo. If you have to sudo you already have a messed up installation. I never encountered such a bug in Arch, but a...

Re: Body and Face replacer compatibility issues (Arch OSG-3.6 compatibility issues)

As an Arch user the situation is, as far as I understand it, as follows: 1. If you go with the official package that tracks the stable release (currently 0.44) you should have no problems. And any problems that do crop up, are usually solved quickly. Just issue a bug on the bug tracker if no one has...

Re: Body and Face replacer compatibility issues (Arch OSG-3.6 compatibility issues)

I haven't been able to test all of them with the new package (only tried better bodies, which gave above crash log), but since the issue seems more mod related as it did happen on the older (acourding to you guys working) OpenSceneGraph too I don't think much has changed. I am also on Arch and use ...

Re: Recent Negativity Regarding OpenMW

Why should natinnet be banned? As far as I am concerned, the trollish antics (the emojis, the written equivalent of grunts and squeaks, the all caps, the bad grammar, the absolute lack of grace, wit or humor, etc.) of a clownish buffoon provides a moderate amount of amusement in a tedious November d...

Re: Recent Negativity Regarding OpenMW

Its really simple: As a general rule people are horrible.
I 100% agree with this (for theological reasons). And then I would add, for the sake of intellectual honesty, and I am the worst of the worst.

Re: Free Software vs Open Source

Oh, am sorry, I wrongly assumed you now about the four freedoms. As I predicted; you presume I know nothing about the subject (have you read Villanueva's letter to Microsoft?), use the word "freedom" glibly without any justification for your particular use and the implications you wish to...

Re: Free Software vs Open Source

Where do you stand, Free Software or Open Source? Neither, because it is a false dichotomy, nay, it is a meaningless question. Terms like "user's freedom" and "user's rights" are being bandied about, with absolutely no inkling of what their meaning is, any conceptual grounding o...
