Re: Using Robert E. Howard's Conan and Kull as a basis for game
So basically... take the original works, rename the people and places. Yeeeah, that is Mongoose's answer (RPG company), it's not a binding legal answer by the CPI, which seems to be the company doing all the dirty work here. Is that the same as Paradox btw, didn't know that? The case against Sanche...

Re: sources of 3D assets
I'll be creating and posting some stuff later, but don't let that stop anyone from contributing. My current goal is to make something of a CC0 animated human model for just any generic project. Then a bank of assets stuff (I'm thinking of basic nature objects like trees, rocks, cliffs, flowers, mus...

Re: Rethinking the Example Suite
I suggest we make Example Suite as a modular thing, where we combine various good ideas. Whoever has time to work on something begins to work on whatever fancies. These sub-projects may proceed on their own phase. We will post links to all assets here, and at some point, work will be combined to Exa...

Re: Using Bliaron 2nd Ed. material for example suite
I had a discussion with the illustrators of the book (Bliaron 2nd Edition), and they were also willing to think of opening some rights for OpenMW's use. I own the copyrights for the text, and illustrators for the images, so we are quite free to think how this would go. We talked of licensing 3d-asse...

Re: Using Robert E. Howard's Conan and Kull as a basis for game
Here's one product and company claiming to have the trademarks of Robert E. Howard's Conan, including the terms Conan, Conan The Barbarian, Hyboria. This is very questionable, and exactly the issue that we discussed earlier here, but it's a concrete example of this phenomena. I can't really say much...

Haven't yet went through all of these, but this is a thread we really need! Keep it coming! I'll be creating and posting some stuff later, but don't let that stop anyone from contributing. My current goal is to make something of a CC0 animated human model for just any generic project. Then a bank of...

Re: Using Wesnoth as a basis for Example Suite
Wesnoth as a world is cool! But it kind of runs into the same problem than the rest suggestions, how do we get good 3d models for it? I feel like having a set of 3d models is the greatest challenge, not to mention the animations for the creatures and the characters. I guess that nature assets and mo...

Re: OpenMW-CS Record Filter/Search Future
Can we have both somehow? Simple system as a default, then more complex filters for advanced users.

Re: Using Bliaron 2nd Ed. material for example suite
That is unfortunate, but I see the point. I don't think the license of the book will be opened further than CC-BY-NC-SA, but there might be a way to get some specific content to work with the example suite. And there's a synergy with using material from Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian, as bot...
