Re: Getting started / Rookie questions
Hi, I'm just getting started with OpenMW and here are my questions: - At the first start it says "Tribunal.esm needs Morrowind.esm". So I need to manually change the lines in the "openMW.cfg" to the correct order. Shouldn't that be mentioned somewhere (not just in the bugs secti...

Re: Distant Land Not Working .42
Did you increase the range? By default the distance is the same as Vanilla.

A configuration popup should appear when you exit the "Census & excise office", or when you load an old game.

Re: i need help
If you are on Mac, you have 2 main options: - Use TextEdit which comes with MacOS -> but remember to go into Preferences and select "Plain text" and disable "Smart quotes" - Install a good text editor like sublime, atom or VSCode. I'd recommend the last one. Using homebrew it's v...

Re: OpenMW fails to compile with gcc-7
I am not sure if they've fixed it or not, but for some time msys2 mingw-w64-bullet builds were unoptimized due to a gcc bug. It should be quite noticeable fps wise and in the profiler (F3). I build bullet myself, so don't care too much. Woah thanks! I had noticed that the physics went nuts, but did...

Re: Can't run openmw-launcher.exe Win10
The files are openmw.cfg and settings.cfg.
Should be located under: C:\Users\HERE_COMES_YOUR_USERNAME\Documents\my games\OpenMW (At least in my win 8.1)

Re: Can't run openmw-launcher.exe Win10
Hmm, I looked at other forums and in most of them the error is actually that their file path uses characters that the application doesn't like, which has caused problems before. Do any of the folders OpenMW is in have punctuation, accented or non-Latin letters or any other symbol that might cause p...

Re: OpenMW fails to compile with gcc-7
I have compiled OpenMW with gcc 5.4 and gcc 7.1 and the exactly same libraries (Scrawl's fork of OSG) and I can see the same performance problems (-60% +-10%). Also the Binary size differs vastly, gcc 5 generates 207M and gcc7 only 39M. (gcc6 should be similar to 5 in terms of size and speed) What ...

I compared the files list and size with mine and they are all the same.
