Re: Addin database

I could place one in balmora next to the temple on the right side and another next to the temple on the left side and they won't collide. That's not how the game data works. Both of these would add new objects to the same cell, and unless you also load up the collision data from the Nif files and a...

Re: Addin database

The main reason you're seeing resistance is that you still don't seem to have quite grasped the ratio of things which such a tool would flag as a conflict versus things that it wouldn't. I don't think it would be too much of an exaggeration to say that it would find problems with any setup with more...

Re: feature request finding mod conflict (multiple mod changing same object ID)

In terms of users managing conflicts between mods, which I think is the aim of the tools proposed in this thread, giving LOOT Morrowind compatibility so we're not stuck with handmade rules-based tools like MLOX for load order tweaking, would go a long way. People are actively working on giving xEdit...

It's fine as long as you're not going to back yourself into a corner where adding support for what Oblivion needs is difficult.

Re: Hey let's switch away from bullet to anything else (discussion)

The question of AABBs vs Capsules I'd put down to which one is more desirable gameplay-wise as either would be about as easy to implement. Morrowind's original engine used AABBs, so it should be easier to replicate what the player can and can't do if we use them, too. However, it also did lots of w...

Re: OpenMW Mod Manager

Thanks for all your hard work! This sounds like something I could've used last year  I do hope someone will convert it to work with Windows at some point in time. :) Mod Organizer already does all of this on Windows with a plugin, and actually lets you use non-VFS-aware tools like MLOX with th...

Re: feature request finding mod conflict (multiple mod changing same object ID)

There's a pretty good chance that xEdit is going to get basic Morrowind support pretty soon. The guy working on it has actually come to the OpenMW discord to ask us about the guts of the ESM format (as it's very different to all the later, FormID-based, games) recently. That'll be able to do everyth...

Re: On file types, order and other such important trivia

Respectfully Maybe try and make that a little more clear with the language you use in the rest of the post. If we're going to get pedantic about authors making things clear instead of users, it's best to do so without writing easily misinterpreted things yourself. :P Anyway, onto the meat of the to...

Re: On file types, order and other such important trivia

The intended way of using OpenMW right now is to have it installed somewhere and then you edit the settings files in your Documents/My Games/OpenMW directory. This is why it says # This is the global openmw.cfg file. Do not modify! # Modifications should be done on the user openmw.cfg file instead #...

Re: Essesntial NPC Death Messages

If it's the Vivec cantons, I'm pretty sure that's one of the things sorted by switching to double-precision Bullet, which is the plan going forward. There's not much else we can do about it.
