Re: Morrowind, Oblivion, or others ways what do you like mor

In terms of being faster, Skyrim's combat was a step in the right direction, but Skyrim felt very floaty to me; you didn't see a lot of staggering (IMO) unless you took a ton of damage. I also liked the idea that you no longer had to really mess around with stuff a ton to get a decent dual wielding...

Re: Smart NPCs

The one "smart" thing I'd really like to see is the ability for NPCs to seamlessly go through load doors, especially when fighting the player.

Re: Important, original bugs

Why would you ask the team to purposely keep bugs in their code? Why not make a mod that gives you god potions, or a Vivec follower mod (using your charm Vivec example).

Edit: Oops, the mod idea was already posted, my bad.

Re: OpenMW 0.29.0

The knockdown lets you know when the area you're god mode-ing through is too difficult for the purposes of modding and setting difficulty. He's asking for an additional option for god mode that would prevent knockdown. That functionality was handled by Invincibility Mode, not God Mode, afaik. Not s...

Re: Splash screens

Not sure why legality is an issue that's being discussed... Bethesda is well aware of this project, they have been for some time. If they ever thought it would infringe on some sort of copyright they could/would have acted a long time ago. Hell, Gstaff responded himself when asked about formulas irr...

Re: Terrain Tunneling/Arching

The best thing you should do with terrain is increase its density 2 or 3 times the subdivisions per meter and implement generic terrain forming tools like erosion and decals (for things like path/roads that bend around corners). Also as others have said - the ability to make a hole in the terrain s...

Re: Terrain Tunneling/Arching

TBH, the only thing that is really needed for complex shapes is terrain holes/tears. You create a hole, create a mesh that looks like some cave going underground, voila. Same with cliffs, tears with a mesh to cover up the seam. Wouldn't that be more practical/backwards compatible/LOD friendly (when ...

To be fair, the launcher isn't exactly in-game. It'd be nice to be able to change some of these settings via the in game, in world, menu.

Ah, this is where I misunderstood you. I thought the loose file system was going to be completely scrapped.

Re: 2014

Why not use the Skyrim approach? You can use loose files AND BSAs loaded via plugin. That way those who only want everything packaged can have that, and those who don't won't. Also, can someone post some sort of pictorial guide/process, maybe a video tutorial? I feel like a moron here, but I simply ...
