Re: New forum software?
Exactly this. Regarding BBCode being perfectly fine... No. No it's not. I've used BBCode on various forums since the early 2000s and it's just a worse version of html. It's not powerful enough to justify its complexity and it's too complex to be fast. Markdown is fast and easy to use and people are ...

New forum software?
Since discord is non-foss and since it is more of a chat and less of a forum, the forums would make more sense for us as the main form of communication. Fact however is that Discord despite this took over completely a few years ago which, to be fair, can be explained by a number of superior features...

Re: The Battle for Wesnoth is looking for contributors
Wesnoth rocks! You guys have been doing incredible work so I'm holding my fingers crossed you'll be able to find more devs. Fun fact: I actually played with the thought once if not Wesnoth would've been a good setting for an RPG using the OpenMW engine. EDIT: I visit the forums, uh, a bit rarely the...

Re: walking in place when rotate camera in third person
Are you sure you're not confusing Morrowind with Skyrim? Morrowind 3rd person camera always shows you the back of the character no matter what, unless you press and hold the tab key. If you install a nightly version (see the downloads page), you can activate some functions in the launcher that enabl...

Re: Understanding Morrowind's Asset Issues
Despite people not having enough free time to work as much on OpenMW than they wish they could, we need to remember that the development of OpenMW is very healthy. We have plenty of really cool stuff coming in the future, Lua GUI and post-processing shaders to mention a few.

Re: Participating in the Google Sumer of Cide
This has been suggested a great number of times before, but the issue has always been whether we have people able to mentor or not. If we do, then this would of course be a great thing to participate in imo.

Re: morrowind download file problem
I assume you are using linux? The only file you should expect with a GOG-installer is an .exe installer file. There should be no problem with running that file with Wine. Are you familiar with using Wine already or is this the first time? The installer will install Morrowind in a way that it is runn...

Re: OpenMW 0.48.0
We are in a really good position here to say that after 0.47 is officially released, that we can start the 0.48 RC process ... [...] This is especially important now that we're asking for feedback from the community about our Lua API. A smaller, yet quicker release cadence is probably a good thing ...

Re: Question about mods with OpenMW
Modding-openmw.com has a couple of mod lists. The lists are great and are 100% compatible with OpenMW (some might need some tweaking, but the list will tell you this and how to do it in that case). So basically I'd say most people will recommend this site.
