... why would you prioritize features and quests and mechanics over the core stability and efficiency of the game engine it'self? Without "quests and mechanics" there is no game to optimize. Stability is a priority and crashes are rare. Optimized code can be harder to change, slowing down...

I have been looking at the develop branch of the blender nif plugin for the last two days.
I can tell you it is not ready for use and it makes no sense to use it if you want to get any work done.
You have to use the version for blender 2.49.

The basic idea would be to fork the 2.49 nif addon, strip all non mw stuff then port to the latest blender version.

It just this dose not seem like a 0.35 to me when tested it a .90 maybe!
